Welcoming Letter
Welcome to the web page of the Computer Science Department of the University of Cincinnati! Computer Science is a rapidly evolving discipline that offers many challenging and practical applications in the present-day information technology oriented society. If you are a prospective student you will find that that our Department offers excellent teaching and research facilities that will prepare you ably for your career goals. We have currently 136 students in our undergraduate program. During 2006-08, our Department produced 28 PhDs, and 44 MS. We have faculty that are doing research in a broad range of areas such as computer and network security, wireless communications, intelligent systems and data mining, image processing, computer vision, computer graphics, robotics, distributed and parallel computing, bioinformatics, and theoretical computer science. All these research lead to interesting projects for our undergraduates and to sizzling thesis topics for our graduate students. Our faculty has won prestigious national awards from professional societies. Cincinnati is the home to a number of major corporations and we have a number of them in our industrial advisory board and also we do research collaboration with some of them.
We are located in the vibrant city of Cincinnati that offers many social, cultural and sports-related activities. Thank you for your interest in our Department.
