The eligibility details and the application process for the GSGA travel awards are given below.
Note 1: The maximum funding from the GSGA travel awards is $400 per year for every student. For all purposes of the GSGA, "One Year" refers to the time period starting the first day of the summer quarter of the current year to the last day of summer break (the break after spring quarter) of the following year.
Note 2: A student cannot exceed $400 (any award) per year or $400 of research award in the entire graduate career at UC. However, that amount can be availed as a combination of any of the three awards.

To be eligible for this award, a student must satisfy the following requirements:
* The CS GSA is an active GSA group and hence, satisfies this requirement.
Applying for this award is a two-step process described in detail in the GSGA website here. Note that the first step has to be done BEFORE the actual conference travel. The application form for the second step is also available here.

Applying for this award is a simple process described in detail here. Unlike Full CTA, there is no need to submit a request for funding beforehand for this award. However, the student has to apply for this award within 14 calendar days of the end of the conference. The application form for the second step is also available here.

This award is designed to help students obtain funds for helping/furthering their research. Students can use this money to buy consumables or research materials - things that are not available for free to the student from the university or to fund travel for research activity. This money cannot be used for traveling to conferences.
A student must satisfy all the following criteria to be eligible for the RA.
* The CS GSA is an active GSA group and hence, satisfies this requirement.
Applying for and receiving the RA is a two step process described in detail here. A student can apply for a RA, for up to $400, only once during his/her graduate schooling at UC. The application form is also available here.
