CALL FOR PAPERS

The International Journal of Interdisciplinary Telecommunications & Networking (IJITN)

Special Issue on Wireless Telecommunications

 http://www.cs.uc.edu/~qzeng/Special_Issue_WT/CFP_Issue_on_WT.htm

MISSION OF SPECIAL ISSUE

Although telecommunications is a complex subject involving a wide variety of interrelated technological, management, policy, economic, and social factors, the traditional approach to investigating the subject has been to divide it up into specialized topic areas (networks, security, standards, etc.), which are then examined from the perspective of a single pertinent discipline (electrical engineering, computer engineering or computer science for technology, operations research for network design, law for telecommunications policy, etc.). While this approach can work quite well for certain kinds of well-defined telecommunications questions, it is less successful when a broader understanding of the issues requires a multidimensional perspective. Researchers and practitioners are beginning to recognize this fact, as evidenced by the growth in the number of interdisciplinary telecommunications conferences and academic telecommunications programs.

Specifically, this special issue will seek the submission of high-quality original interdisciplinary academic and practitioner research, surveys, and case studies that address wireless telecommunications issues, answer wireless telecommunications questions, or solve wireless telecommunications problems. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, wireless telecommunications technology, management, policy, economics, and social impact. The context may be industry-wide, organizational, individual user, or societal. We expect submissions to originate from both the academic as well as industrial research sectors. This would result in a mix of both theoretic analysis and empirical results. This issue will seek a diversity of timely and interesting topics and viewpoints.

Topic areas of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:

·         Wireless Communications Investments and Ventures

·         Network Modeling and Performance Evaluation

·         Global Wireless Services and Business

·         Protocols and Algorithms for Wireless Networks
